I've tried to check for updates at least ten times for sp1 but it just can't find the update. Any solutions?

If your machine uses certain drivers, you cannot get SP1 through Windows Update.

Download it through Microsoft's website (via Download Center).

I suggest you don't get SP1 though if your open to it. It apparently reduces your 3D mark score as shown in a nbd headline

Which headline? A link to the story would be very helpful. Without the facts, it could be construed that SP1 causes this for all video cards, all computer types, and all drivers, but I would wager that it's really only a specific card and/or driver.

go to NBR "home" on the bar and scroll down, the story was a few days ago. It showed SP1 reducing results.

I couldn't copy/paste a link because you can't copy and paste on the iPod touch. Sorry.

That story only shows one laptop, and doesn't identify the video card or driver. It's also in stark contrast to the Dell M1530 with SP1 that the same reviewer used that had no performance drop.

Until more data is gathered, it's ridiculous to say that SP1 adversely impacts 3D scores.
