Hi all,I have a question.
I already have 2 computers with Vista and I am very very dissapointed with Vista`s performance. There are lot of bugs and problems in Vista, and I want to know-it is just me or you all have problems with Vista?thx![]()

This is going to sound completely bizarre but I actually like Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I just got a new Clevo 901c/PCMicroworks Blackhawk XR-5 (quad core) and the speed and stability is great. Of course I dual boot so I can game on XP Pro but as of now I have no problems with Vista, the speed is great and I like the design. Some of the security features can get annoying though!
Cheers! -
Do you have the 32 or 64 bit Vista?
-
32-bit,is the difference that big?
-
I've loved Vista for about a year now.
Ready for Linux -
would u expand this statement a bit more? some examples would help
can u expand the specifics pertaining to ur experience and environment?
and what are the specs of ur comps?
cheers ... -
Happy with Vista.
If you have specific problems, you should (in this order)
1. use the Top Vista Tweaks to improve performance
2. search the forums to see if your problem has already been posted
3. start a thread with your questions -

Vista is good for good computers,
Vista is bad for bad computers
So,
you will have a good experience if you use vista on good computer
and,
you will have a bad experience if you use vista on a bad computer
I think Vista is good, the problem that makes many people feel vista has a bad performance is that they installed vista on a bad machine..... -
For exmpl. When I open 2 IE with like 5-6 in each it works fine until some moment and then something hapan and then even right click didn`t work!!!and then when I try to open a program like notepad or calc. it pops up a messege where it says"Not enough memory"(or something like this),but I have 3 gb ram!!!
-
3gb of ram is a good computer,
you should have good experience,
probably hardware problems.
or,
IE's problem -
I would say that the difference is noticable. But like everyone is pointing out if you have a lower end machine it may have issues. If you are just using the 32 bit version of vista I would recommend that you stick with XP. I would only use the 64 bit version of vista. by the way what are your specs?
cheers

-

UAC still on? turning it off for testing-it is off
pagefile on?- I am sorry but I don`t what what is this. -
it is on then
ok, can u share a snapshot of ur start up processes?
cheers ... -

cheers ... -

-

I like Vista ok. It hides a lot of system stuff, and I can no longer mess with explorer.exe to change my start button text, and all that good stuff. However, with the immensely helpful tweaks and tips available, I'm learning to use it productively, and it's been stable for the most part. I mean, what do you expect when you tweak it up and disable all sorts of services?
That said, Ubuntu FTW! -
I got my laptop last year that came with preinstalled Vista 32 bit with little bloatware, I get Upgrade 64bit Disc turn into clean Vista 64 up running with 4GB of ram.
Any reinstalled Vista came with junk bloat ware, 90 days anti-virus running crawl like turtle, many many outdated software and drivers pretty bad.
I say Vista 64 with SP1 (RTM) running solid and more responsiveness.

I've never had a problem with vista, barely uses any resources, and is much sexier than xp. But aren't there about 5 active threads like this?
Windows Vista-are you happy with you Windows Vista?
