    I am on my EEE while my G2S in the shop. This morning I attempted to boot up with Xandros Presto (Beta) and it seems that my keyboard was locked/unrecognized for the boot menu. It took me about 5 boots to get into the bios and in the bios the keyboard was functional. Also, the keyboard was functional in XP Normal/Safe Mode. I have reinstalled Presto and it seems to be working, but I am unsure as to if this is a boot manager issue, bios/hardware, or presto. It has worked for the last couple weeks and all of a sudden it just would not allow me to change the boot options. The only setting I have changed was boot time from 30 to 15 seconds and set XP as default. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Boot INI:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=15
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
    C:\grldr.mbr="Xandros Presto"

    BIOS Settings:
    -Quick Boot - Enabled
    -Quiet Boot - Enabled
    -WLan, BT, Camera Disabled
    All other devices Enabled
    -HDD set to priority 1

    If you set the boot time back to 30 seconds, do you still get the problem?

    Before I uninstalled it I did try setting it back to 30 seconds and even trying Presto as default. Still, it would not allow any keyboard movement. I gave up then reinstalled.

    This may just be one of the pitfalls of playing with a beta version of something that messes with the boot procedure. It sounds like it's either not loading the keyboard driver, or is jumping the gun and not giving the system enough time to get the driver loaded before it goes off and does something else - but that's just a blind guess on my part. Have you sent in a support ticket (or whatever Xandros calls it) to see if they've got a fix and/or are aware of the issue?
