I have recently ordered a Lenovo ThinkPad T61p with Windows XP Professional. As I understand it, the Windows Vista OEM License from a laptop installed with it can be used for a Vista x64 install, given that one has the x64 install disc (I believe the x64 flavor of the Windows Anytime Upgrade CD?).

Can this be done similarly for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition? More specifically, can the Windows XP Professional x64 trial software disc be used? According to the page, Microsoft provides a trial serial number for 120 days of use, but my hope is that an OEM license for 32-bit XP Pro. will allow for the installation of XP Pro. x64 Edition (sans the 120 day limit).

Download the trial and try it if you can, try your key rather than their.

XP X64 was a test OS based on WinServer 2003 and is mostly intended for devellopement btw
