I'm not sure I posted this in the right section but... Recently I have been experiencing problems with Windows on my computer. I would receive a blue screen with various messages such as BAD_POOL_CALLER and PFN_CORRUPT. I uninstalled my antivirus programs but I still receive the same messages.
At one point I was unable to even load my computer. I would just receive a black screen. I am a novice, but I decided to just reinstall everything on my computer from scratch. It was fine until I recently started getting the messages again. I think I may have improperly installed Windows because I used to have a C Drive and D drive was something else. Now the D drive is the DVD drive so I know something is wrong.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You.

The BAD_POOL_CALLER and PFN_CORRUPT are both memory errors, it could mean that your RAM is broken. Try changing the RAM.

My notebook is a brand new dell purchased about 2 months ago. Are there any other possible reasons, or is this the only one?

Hm. Well, are you sure that it is not possible to boot into Windows? Because if you can, I would recommend running MemTest - it tests your memory for errors.
But, if you can't boot, then call Dell, and have them replace the memory. -
well i tried the memtest and it did not find any errors. A little while later I received the message IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and then another blue screen with the message: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. I can start windows. At times it shut downs on its own and gives me this message. I do not know what is wrong with it.

Hm. I suggest doing a full reinstall of Windows - format the drive and everything. If you still have problems after you do that, then you know it is not a Windows problem - it has to be in the hardware.
I'd call Dell anyway to see what they say. Not like it costs anything. -
When you get a blue screen write down the full error message (i.e. the numbers) not just the message.
I got IRQL not less than equal several times; in my case it was drivers (I think; I am not sure because my machine had so many problems that they are all jubled up in my memory) -
