Hey guys, this problem happened very randomly. One day I decided to transfer some music from my computer to my External Seagate Hard Drive. Windows XP froze, Control+Alt+Delete did not work, nothing. I try my printer, phone, usb flash drive, iPod, etc. with the same result. I have Windows XP SP3. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Thanks! I have tried doing a system restore back 1 month with no luck.

Try updating the Chipset Driver, or if you have the latest one, roll-back to the previous.
Also uncheck "Enable windows to switch off this device" in the USB Root Hub Driver Properties. -

I have the latest driver and the 2nd method did not work.

Were you having this problem with the previous driver release/s ??

This may just be way too simple but can you try a different usb port? Or is it a problem with all ports?

All ports.

Disable the autorun thing first
Also try formatting the drive. Save your stuff first of course.. -

How do I disable autorun?
Windows XP freezes everytime a USB Device is plugged in.
