Hey guys, this problem happened very randomly. One day I decided to transfer some music from my computer to my External Seagate Hard Drive. Windows XP froze, Control+Alt+Delete did not work, nothing. I try my printer, phone, usb flash drive, iPod, etc. with the same result. I have Windows XP SP3. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Thanks! I have tried doing a system restore back 1 month with no luck.

Try updating the Chipset Driver, or if you have the latest one, roll-back to the previous.

Also uncheck "Enable windows to switch off this device" in the USB Root Hub Driver Properties.

This may just be way too simple but can you try a different usb port? Or is it a problem with all ports?

    Disable the autorun thing first

Also try formatting the drive. Save your stuff first of course..
