    guys i need to install windows xp on my new dell studio 1558 with the i5 processor. i can't seem to fine the drivers anywhere.. :mad: .. any help that you guys can offer??

    what about the windows xp drivers for the studio 1555? can i use them after installing xp on my 1558?

    Yea, the HM55/PM55 chipset for the Intel i-series was built with windows vista/7+ in mind and the drivers are written accordingly. Plus the Studio 1555 is running the last generation PM 45 chipset and the drivers most certainly will not work with the 1558. And to top it off, I believe you are going to lose some hardware functionality when going all the way back to XP.

    From your other post, you say that software WONT work in 7, why not use the XP Mode. Just Google it.

    did you have any joy with the XP Drivers?? i am awaiting delievery of my 1558 and just started reading all these ppl wanting to change to XP Like me i hate W7 has anyone found all the drivers yet???? please help :)

    I doubt youll find all the drivers, you're better off with Win7..It's much better and will have better support..What if a program you want to use isn't supported by XP, then what do you do or if newer drivers that you want aren't compat with Xp?
