    hi,

I am unable to install windows XP (32 and 64 bit) on my HP Pavilion notebook.
If anyone know solution for this issue, please provide some guide lines to how to install.

I think the issue is at detecting my hardware(hard disk).

    17.0" diagonal WXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1440 x 900)

    4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)

    512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT

This guide should work. It's for the dv5t, but I wouldn't expect that to cause any major issues, especially as it probably is the hard drive issue that's causing a problem. As I don't have an HP, I can't say for sure if it'll work, but good luck!

Either get a SATA driver or disable AHCI support in the BIOS, if it exists.

    cheers ...
