Hey guys... I have an HP DM3z and it run's Windows 7 64-bit. Unfortunately I want to run some old games that aren't compatible with 64-bit and Windows XP Mode is terribly slow for games.

Is there a way to install Windows XP on a partition for this computer? Any guides, etc.? Will all my driver's work? Thanks!

Ok, you just need partition software that's 64 bit compatible then. Which isn't easy to find. I found this, but it's not free. http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm Server editon does 64 bit. I'll keep looking.

Another option would be to download Ubuntu and burn it to a disk. Then, boot from the CD, and use Ubuntu's partition tools.

Gparted is probably the best and it's free, but there is the inbuilt Windows partitioner too.

Be careful when you go to install XP. It may wipe out your 7 boot loader in the process. It can be restored via various means like the 7 repair tool on the DVD.

What kind of old games are you trying to play? I've run into a few with 16-bit installers that wouldn't work on 64-bit Windows, but the actual games themselves were ok. Some games have community-built updated installers.

You can try Partition Magic, it is quite good! The downside is, it's not free, but you got a free trial, for a "hit'n run" it may be usefull.
