I recently purchased an ibm/lenovo T60. It has windows xp installed. I have a 320 gb hard drive with windows vista installed. I was wondering if there was a way to create a windows/ ibm drivers restore disk and then swap harddrives, install the OS on the new hard drive?

I tried the backup uitility, but it doesn't seem to work.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Is this relevant? Are you asking if you can save the Vista?

Its relevant in that I want to use the 320 GB drive, and I don't want Windows Vista.

I can actually boot the computer using the vista drive, but I need to install xp onto the drive, and I would prefer a copy of my current drive if possible, in order to maintain current drivers.

You seem a little confused. If I'm understanding you right...

You want to WIPE Windows Vista.
You want to COPY Windows XP from the current drive in the laptop onto the now blank drive.

What is on the drive you're going to wipe is completely irrelevant.

    Use Acronis as described above.
