Hi all, i just successfully installed windows xp on my dell 1520, and it runs great.
Ok, now i know that some of my friends computers seems to have a slightly different look to their xp, like their close and restore buttons look modifyed and the right side of their task bar is a lighter color. Overall their xp skin looks better, and their system came with this skin as a default. Well, I remember reading somewhere that this skin is free and its provided by Microsoft, but I cant seem to find it. Any help on finding it would be nice, thanks.

Yeah, try the link John suggested. I think you have to overwrite some dll files in order for it to work. The Royale theme is a pretty nice refresh from the Luna theme.

If you want to change the boring look of Windows XP there are several was to do it. The first is to install Windowblinds (60 day trail, $19.99) which allows for a customized look. You can add theme or as the program refers to them as "windowblinds".
Another way is to install a free program which makes Windows XP look like Windows Vista. It's called "Bricopacks" and you can find the software here:

thanx it looks great
i dont want windowsblinds because i dont like more programs at startup. -
Hold it! That may be the media center theme, but it looks like the "Royale" theme I have seen.
If you want it, I can email it to you, or you can download it here.
It should just install to your themes folder somewhere in C:\Windows (I'm to lazy to look it up =^), and then you can select it from the Control Panel. -
pixelot: it's the link I already posted
