i recently bought an SSD to replace my current HDD (which i am putting into my optical drive bay as a storage device).
So anyway I decided on a fresh install of windows on the new SSD for handiness. I booted into windows on the HDD which was still connected to the internal SATA controller. I then connected the new SSD via eSATA. i then ran the setup in windows and installed it on the SSD.
I then replaced the HDD with the SSD so the SSD is now on the internal SATA controller. now i have a couple of problems.. first the SSD is assigned to G:/ and the HDD is still C:/ i want to change the SSD to C:/ . Can i just assign the new drive letter in disk management or will i have to do more and which OS should i boot to do this HDD or SSD.
My next problem is that i cannot boot into the SSD drive without the HDD connected via eSATA.
What i want out of this is to be able to boot into the SSD without having the HDD connected and have it as the C:/.
how can i go about this?

I don't know if it would be possible to do what you are saying, but why not just connect the ssd to the internal sata and do a fresh install?

You have 2 drives that contain system start up files - does not work that way unless you set up it as dual boot.
Best thing to do is backing up your data (HDD) then performing a disk clone to the SSD
cheers ...
