Like the title says, I can't boot into Win8 as the install seems to be corrupt. It's a Dell that I bought as an openbox and though it seems like the restore partition is intact, every time I press F8 to invoke it, I get this screen and can't seem to go any further. If I were to install Win8 from a disk, would it screw up the restore partition at all? Or would I be able to restore it back to factory settings, once I install Win8 from a disk?

edit: attempts at repairing and refreshing the system from my disk were unsuccessful.

You brought the system as an open box, fired it up for the very first time, and it didn't work?

If yes, re-install at will. By default the Windows install progress does not deleted anything other than the specific partitions being formatted. The restore partition also seems to be broken so it won't help in the future anyway.

I suggest to reinstall Windows from scratch, get drivers and patches working, and then create a backup media with your new install. If everything turns out to be successful, you can forget the original restore partition.

Yeah, try reinstalling Windows from scratch, you can get all the necessary drivers from Dell's website anyways.
