It may be time for me to stop being lazy and just figure out Linux after Win10 support is dead which shouldnt be until 2025 iirc

I would rather knowing have no idea what I am doing versus not knowing if outside forces changed my desired configuration.

Get started now so that when Micro$lop has nothing left that works that isn't trash you will be ready. That is what I did/am doing. I wish I didn't have to, but it will be worth it in the long run. Waiting until the 11th hour will just make it unnecessarily painful.

The recent news of steam os3 is promising as well iirc they used arch Linux with KDE plasma which is attractive.

Gaming on Linux has seen a lot of strides and it can be beneficial from a marketability standpoint in the workforce as well. No reason not to is what it's starting to boil down to.

I was wondering why my BRAND NEW LAPTOP was running more sluggish than i expected, and lo and behold there was the VBS settings turned on (core isolation and memory integrity), as well as the device encryption was on by default. Turning off both these things made a world of difference, thanks again @Spartan@HIDevolution for doing gods work

Microsoft really needs to get their **** together

After a bit of digging it seems that automatic device encryption is a feature on windows that applies to some modern laptops, or most in our cases where there is "connected standby" and "modern standby", basically laptops with solid state storage and soldered ram are more likely to have these features which leads to them being automatically encrypted
