When I'm clearly not. When I'm running a game like league of legends or batman arkham origins it wants me to close the program due to low memory.

I go to task manager and the most ram I've seen that's been a used was ahbout 5.5/8gb.

I am running windows 8.1. Nothing happens if I just ignore the messages, but they are mildly irritating.

    Any ideas here?

What is your pagefile set to? I get this error sometimes because mine are set really low / disabled (as amusing as it sounds to get it when you're only using 7GB out of 16... on my desktop where it's disabled, and running a VM or two on my laptop with 8GB RAM with a 1GB pagefile).

I've been playing borderlands 2 in 8.1 without this issue. I know that's not particularly helpful, but it does indicate it's not a universal issue.

If the game supports Windowed mode, try that. If I recall correctly, it has something to do with running the game full screen with a resolution other than the one you're using for your desktop.
