Anyone else get this on windows update yet. Pretty much upgrades stuff like msn messenger and all the other windows live essentials products.

Honestly i only use MSN and its terrible so far. Gonna downgrade to 2010. The window is now some fullscreen thing that has 3/4 of it with useless msn news and social status updates (they're trying to make this like facebook). With your friends list on the side. You can change it to just display the friends list, but it just looks weird.

On top of that they now have some stupid requirement of using your full name all the time. Before i only used to use my first name and left the last name blank, you can't change it or anything either. Also if you have the msn friends list window open and you decide to close it by alt+f4, it will think you're exiting msn and sign you out completely and close the program. Unfortunately thats what i used to do a lot in the previous version and it just sucks.

    just my rant here.

I'm receiving free Office Pro 2010 for installing the beta, haha. I got randomly selected to talk to the researcher for 20 minutes about using the beta version.

@shinakuma9...yeah it showed up as a Win update, and I don't want it. How does one remove the notification from Win update?

Just right click on it and select hide...
Glad I did that already. So they changed messenger as we know it? That being from just a chat program to a...big full-screen sort of thing?

It's possible to change the layout to the classic one, just look for it. Instead of bashing the new version, try looking for the solution first, it's quite easy.

I already said there is an option to do that, and regardless, it still sucks.

    yup it is

what i have so far what i really find anoying is that you can't block people anymore and it seem that ev n if you delete them they still can talk to you

but the rest is quite greate especialy hardware acceleration that akes for no more window desintegration when moving them around even if you have a incredible computer also it helps alot with video conversation

I've had Windows Live Essentials 2011 for quite a while now. I disliked Messenger 2011 at first, however after a while you get used to it. The worst feature is the fact you can't change your display name. It uses the name used for hotmail.

For those wanting to change the view back to the old one then simply click this button: [IMG]

I just hope for an option to choose between Movie Maker and Photo Gallery. I suggested this to the researcher so hopefully there will be a change. Movie Maker is very handy if you upload videos to YouTube often but don't need Photo Gallery.

What`s annoying me is that it can´t just remeber your name without password, but you must ckeck for only one choice that is password+ name .

I want it just remeber my name not both!!

    Any tip?

    Thanks.
