Hey.
I just got my computer back from a guy who was fixng it for me. He had to put vista back onto my computer.
The thing is, I dont seem to have windows media center and on the MS website, i cant find an option to to put it back on without re-buying vista.
Any suggestions???

What Version of Vista You have Mate ? AFAIK know only Vista Home Premium and Ultimate have WMC :rolleyes2:
-
I have vista home premium.

Tried a repair?

try if you can find ehshell.exe in C:\windows\ehome or C:\Program Files\Windows Media Center , if its there then try executing the file directly
if you can then goto Default Programs set WMC all its defaults . -
its not there at all. tried ehshell and in c drive

A repair/reinstall is your best bet. You cannot add the module after the fact. Good luck.

do u mean repairing or reinstalling vista?

Insert the install disk, select language etc then click repair at the bottom of the screen.

No point in babbling, it's a relatively simple process, and I did it two days ago after repartitioning the HD
-
8 hours later that's a long repair.
I wish more people would let us know how they're making out. Kind of senseless, to ask a question, and then not to. -
Yeah, if nothing else it's a bit rude
-
^^ Nah, may be all the "nice" suggestions ended up ruining the comp
cheers ... -
Haha, can you imagine a "repair" installation breaking a computer
Windows media center missing
