Hi Everyone
I have a dv6519tx running Windows XP which I use it for a bit of programming. I moved one of my projects from my desktop to my laptop and tried to run it but it said something like 'the required counter is unavailable'. I poked around a bit and discovered that all of the performance counters in Windows XP performance monitor have gone weird, they're just a heap of random numbers that do nothing when selected. Does anyone know how to repair this? Even if i can just get the default Windows XP counters back would be great.
Thanks in advance
Grand Admiral

sure wish I knew what you mean by gone wierd...I would like to see it.
Have you tried disabling then re-enabling ?
start > run
cmd
<enter>
diskperf -n
<enter>
reboot
start > run
cmd
<enter>
diskperf -y
<enter>
reboot
check performance monitor again -
Thanks for your recommendation. Weird as in instead of having a list of performance counters (Disk, processor, etc) there is a list of apparently random numbers. I've fixed it myself, my computer started BSOD and i had to repair windows which has reset the counters back to default.

I love how your sig has "Down with Microsoft" in it, but you have Microsoft OS's running both of your machines
Glad you got it working, though. Thanks for posting the solution.
