    Windows update hangs at 88 percent, any fixes?

    I am trying to update my computer to 1903, but the update assistant hangs at 88 percent. any ideas?

    Have you ensured you disconnected all USB devices except for the mouse.

    also, did you ensure you updated all drivers to the latest?

    anytime man, I'll be with you until you get this done. There are a few ways we can do this after you've done the above things. if it didn't work, then you can:

    a) use the manual update tool

    b) create a Windows 10 USB Installer Flash Disk but don't boot off it, instead, while in Windows, run setup.exe and choose to upgrade

    Don't forget to disable your AV as well.

    @kojack Which PC are you trying to upgrade? Specs please. Its easier to put your specs in signature.

    All done. Ultra's advice worked. It was my dell inspiron. I am doing my wifes notebook as we speak. Getting everything back as it was before getting dinged with the non original copy of windows on our machines.

    No issue. all went fine. It was the fact I had my monitor and USB "stuff" connected. As soon as I tried mine with eveyrthing unplugged, It went perfect. As did hers!

    Follow up question. When I boot my wifes computer up, there are two verisons of windows 10 it will ask me to boot into. How do I fix that?

    1) right click on "Computer" then choose Properties.

    2) click on the Advanced tab.

    3) at the bottom where it says 'Startup and Recovery", click on Settings

    4) on the top you will see list of operating systems and right beneath it, uncheck the box which says time to display list of operating systems
