Sounded like you have a corrupted .NET core

Try uninstall the .NET completely and re-install the package. Search the net for some "Automated cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5"

    cheers ...

    Hi folks,

Yes, the same happened to me ... I tried installing it twice ... same crap. So, I just gave up and will wait for some fix from Wonderful Microsoft.

    Hi QHN,

Q1: If the .NET is corrupt why would the application using .NET run A-OK!

Q2: Do you have a source for such "Automated Cleanup Tool"!?!?

    Thanks,

    G! :)

LOL, the day I got my new laptop, I was of course installing all my programms and then this update was installed right at the same time as I installed a programmwhich is based on .NET Framework. I accidently clicked "restart computer", because I didn't pay attention and thought it was from my programm installation. After the reboot, everything was messed up, the programm didn't work, I couldn't remove nor reinstall it and further Windows updates also didn't work anymore.

As the lappy was only a few hours old, I just restored the factory image and began again installing my programms. But now, I don't let Windows install the updates automatically, but only search and download them,so i can install them during shutdown. I guess, this is safer anywas than installing updates while everything is running.

    Cheers
    Tobi
