    Gidday guys

My desktop sucked down Vista SP1 2 days ago, so I hooked my notebook up to suck it down, and it told me it was up to date, but the update history showed a few updates my desktop had were not on the notebook (including SP1)? It seems like my desktop sucks down more updates than my notebook. It is receiving updates, just not the same as my desktop. Any ideas why?
The desktop has just this morning sucked down 2 updates, that my notebook was not interested in.

    Regards to all.

I don't think the people running Windows Update release updates to every machine in the world at once; they release updates to computers in groups. That might explain your issue.

Just download the update from Microsoft's website and install SP1 yourself.

Your notebook might have certain drivers not compatible with SP1. Thats why you dont see the update while your desktop does. Check to see if there are any driver updates available and then try Windows update.

I'd go with the standalone install regardless. WU seems to be better for just the usual updates.

Imagine if every computer running Vista or XP or any MS OS all got the same updates at the same time. That would be some CrAzY download times!!
