Once they release a Service Pack update, then maybe.

For now, I'm sticking with Windows 7 Pro.

I'll try out the retail version on the Duo 11, and if I like it, then yes. EDIT: By "yes," I mean upgrade the Vaio F2 to Win8 as well.

Same here. Gonna dual boot it alongside Win7 and if I like it I'll move to Win8.

I get it for $10 from my university book store, so I won't exactly upgrade to it, but I'll test it on a virtual machine, see if I like it, and if I do, I'll upgrade my Windows 7 partition to it.

I tried it for 45 minutes on a friends computer and liked it, and thought the Metro UI wasn't bad. It's definitely quicker.

UCLA Engineering has W8 Pro on MSDNAA, so I'll probably be upgrading. Will likely be waiting for a while before doing so, though--maybe when I get more time during winter or summer break.

I don't really see what Windows 8 does for me that Windows 7 can't.....

I will buy it since it will only cost me $15 but I'm not quite sure what I'll end up doing with it.

There is a vbscript that will remove the OS check from an application. I used it to install the Officejet 8600 we have on my Windows 8 machine.

I tried a preview version and I just can't see a reason for me to switch. I found it unpleasant to use.

It is not the OS check, when the software tries to initialize the printer it hangs up. If you do an inplace upgrade it breaks the driver and the software will not work. At least this is with the network drivers I can't speak for USB drivers for a L7780 printer..............

Same here. I see no sufficient reason to upgrade, and too many to refrain from doing so.

Not until they stop supporting Windows 7 completely and by the time they do that, I probably won't be using Windows.

I'm going to use a mix of 7 and 8 on various computers, my older ones will have 7 on them. I plan to have a Windows 8 drive in my desktop, but i'll keep the windows 7 install at first and maybe nuke it if the transition is going as well as i hope it will. There are a few annoyances i encountered in the release preview, but nothing too major in my case for what i do on my desktop. I'll also get the 15$ upgrade pack for my M6700 given that it's so cheap, i might as well have it in case i want to upgrade at some point.

After full driver support and verified that I won't lose any performance, then I'll switch.

    So eventually....

I see zero incentive to upgrade. Quite happy with W7.

I don't plan to update anytime soon, no.
I'll keep to a OS I enjoy using, Windows 7. I'll definitely update in the future, just not now when its fresh from release. I'll wait for reviews/videos and wait for all the kinks and flaws to be fixed with updates and then I'll make the switch over to Windows 8.

'Upgrading' from well working w7 installations? Never.

From xp? Maybe, or probably if experiencing a major crash.

The latest W8 release has been very nice (with Classic Shell to deal with the 'interface previously known as metro'), I've moved from hating much of w8 to being quite impressed ( not with the dreadful metro, but with general compatibility, speed and stability). Next laptop will very probably be w8 out of the box ...with immediate Classic Shell installation.
