Hello
I tried watching a Blu ray on my laptop yesterday and for some reason it did not work. WMP did not recognise it as having a movie on it and windvd BD came up with a error box saying "WinDVD information service is not yet ready. Please try again later". I looked on the sony website (I have a Vaio E series laptop) and it does have a page for such a problem although its only solution was to fiddle around with the properties of something but the two things it says to change were already at the right settings, so it was little help really. I don't know what else to do, if any one can suggest something that would be great cheers. I think this may be the first time I've tried to play a Blu ray disc so it may be something from when it was made :/
Heres the sony support page

Will it still play other bluray discs? Is it possible that the firmware for your bluray drive needs to be updated, just like the firmware for regular bluray players need to?
Wait, sorry, not the firmware, but some update for WinDVD.
Last summer I bought I, Robot. It's not a new movie, but wouldn't play. It was another month or two before Sony put out an update to WinDVD that would allow that disc to play.
Copyright protection on bluray discs means they're ever changing. It's a pain.
Windvd problems - information service not yet ready.
