My situation is a bit unique - but my school has wireless points located throughout the campus.

The SSID is all the same, but it appears that it's just running repeaters x everywhere.

However, here's the problem, I'm trying to find software for Windows Vista that will allow me to pick certain access points (even though the SSID is the same) to connect to.

The reason is - certain access points have been disabled for internet access and my computer keeps on connecting to the closest one. As a result, if my computer is near a "dead" access point, it will automatically connect to that, regardless that a working access point is 15 feet nearby.

Is there any software that can perform this well for Vista?

Network Magic might have a feature like that, I'm not totally sure though.

I installed it a few hours ago, and am looking at it right now. I'm going to find out tomorrow if this works on the campus :) Currently still @ Home right now.

Still trying to find a bunch of software just in case. I searched for a few hours, apparently there are very few situations like mine. Heh.

    Thanks for the help, repped.
