Ok, so I configured my wireless router (Netgear) through my notebook and this required me to put in the supplied CDRom from Netgear. It doesn't look like it installed anything, but ever since I always have to start my windows wireless network utility manually...which means I have to go to "control pane" then to "administrative tools" and then go to "services" to start the Wireless Zero Configuration utility.
How do I make it start by itself. It's already set to "automatic" in the startup configuration....I tried to restore my system components to several dates before I did the router configuration, but Windows tells me there's nothing to be restored..... ARGH![]()

my best suggestion is to not use wireless zero config, and use the wireless cards manufacturers drivers, they will do much better the wzc.

try this:
start>run>msconfig
under services, scroll down to wzc, and check it.
hope this helps -
Go to intel's website and update the driver for your card. See if that helps. If not, you could use intel's proset wireless tool (some people like using this over the windows zero config). It does use more resources, but it's a small price to pay to not have to go through all the trouble of what you're going through now.

Sorry if this wasn't clear from before. There was a driver update for the intel card from Sony which fixed the WZC utility problem.
Thanks for all the sugestions!!
