    Hello there,
I have DELL XPS m1530 and windows 7. Occasionally I loose wireless connection, I have to do troubleshooting(I think it resets adapter) and I get it back, but it happens too often. I don't have this problem with Vista. Adapter is "DELL Wireless 1490 Dual Band WLAN mini-card". iss there an yway to fix it?

I have this issue with Build 7058 but did not have this issue in Build 7000. What build do you have?

Install VISTA wireless adapter drivers...Worked for me and the the net became much quicker as well. Apparently there are problems still with the MS drivers. I have the intel 4965 AGN and win 7- 7068

more often than not... it's the router which disconnects....

1] either update your router's firmware
    or
    2] disable your laptops IPV6
    or
3] disable a/b/g/n on your laptop and just choose b/g

Not sure if this will help as this was an issue from build 7000.

My wireless kept disconnecting after resuming from sleep, so I had to go into the adaptors power management properties in device manager and untick allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

If you go to control panel, device manager, then click on network adapters.

Double click your wireless adapter, then you should see a tab saying power management, go onto this then untick the box saying Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Like i said, this fixed my issues. Hope it works for you.

btw my wireles disconnects all the time, not just after sleep. And I can't reconnect, nor does troubleshooting help. Only restart helps.

Right, not sure about why device manager is not showing any power management tab.

What drivers have you used, dell and microsoft????

I've just done a little research, and found out that the Dell 1490 Wireless card has the Broadcom BCM4310 chip (if it's wrong someone correct me, but a couple of sites confirm this). Hopefully (fingers crossed) you may be able to use these drivers on this site for vista for the BCM4310.

    http://www.x-drivers.com/catalog/dr...s/companies/broadcom/models/bcm4310/9423.html

See if they work, If they don't , see if there is any other versions out there for vista.
