    With Apple reaching into Open CL, What will microsoft do?

    Well ive been reading up about this Open CL alittle, and how the GPU will be a bit more usable for heavy performance (sounds quite scary)

    Have microsoft got any plans?

    Microsoft already has made some headway with this, by making the Windows Presentation Foundation available to developers. It uses the graphics card for displaying visuals, freeing up CPU cycles for other, more important tasks.

    Edit: Not many commercial applications are out there using it though. At least, none that I've seen.

    And I believe that msft is a second level member of the OpenCL industry group. Most of the majors are first level members though.
