I am looking into my windows task manager.

I have Page File on my primary disk turned completely off. In fact I dont have page file. I am running a USB readyboost (3.5GB dedicated).

My task manager says there is still a pagefile, reading roughly 1000M/3000M.

    Is that normal or wierd?

Yah... with page file turned off, Readyboost is kind of useless. It's like cooking eggs and ham without the eggs.

I am not even sure if this turning-off pagefile option ever works in Vista SP2. Vista probably not using this flag anymore. Any MS developers around?

    cheers ...

Those figures also include your RAM. Let me guess, if you look under Physical Memory Total it shows about 3GB right? and you probably have a little less than that to use as virtual memory. So all your really seeing is 1000M of RAM being used as virtual memory out of 3000M of RAM available as virtual memory. It's probably not using a pagefile on your disk.

Pagefile shouldn't be turned off completely, there is hardly any advantage by turning it off.
