It's not the new one. It's WMP9.
Anyway whenever I play a video instead of showing it's normal colors I get this bright green/orange colored thing. Almost as if someone ran a filter over it. Something like you would see with night vision and heat sensing goggles except much brighter.
And this is a new laptop, so I haven't messed around with anything, except install Omega drivers for my Mobility x1600..
Video works fine on VLC, but does the exact same thing on MPC. It also does it on my ASUSDVD player.
Anyone know WTF is happening?

I don't know how to fix the problem in WMP9 but what you could do is do the following:
1. Download WMP10 from here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/2/A/12A31F29-2FA9-4F50-B95D-E45EF7013F87/MP10Setup.exe
2. Update it with this patch to address the problem: http://download.microsoft.com/downl...aeda0f63a/windowsmedia10-kb898549-x86-enu.exe
Doing some research points to the solution above as a fix to stop video from appearing green or orange.
I hope this helps. -

Thanks for the link. Downloading now. However this happens to all players except VLC (which makes my frothing for that player increase just more), so I'm not sure how a MP10 upgrade will help. But I have to update anyway, so I guess I'll do it now.

Oh man do I owe you one now! That worked perfectly! It fixed it for everything from WMP to WMC to ASUSDVD! Thank you!
