    Work Continue in Sleep Mode

    Hey all,
    If I'm doing something like downloading a file, running a virus scan, defragging, or anything like that that takes a while, if I put the screen down, closing the laptop, which is set to go into sleep mode in that position, does the computer continue to do the work or does it stop until I open it again?

    It will halt until you bring it out of sleep.

    Sleep mode is a low power system state. Your laptop cannot sleep and work at the same time. Can you? :)

    I test beds for a living, so I can :p haah j/k.

    I've always found having the laptop go into standby when the lid closed to be annoying. But my laptops spend a lot of time running with the lid closed.
