So what if i was too young when Mosaic came out..i downloaded it yesterday from the Mosaics FTP ...v3.0

It installed & opened ...but when i type any address windows says 'program not responding'

Everytime it says that so i uninstalled it..

Look, this was like an experiment & i wanted to experience what the worlds first web browser felt like......

So any suggestions to make it work? any XP guys tested it??

You all can get it here : ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/Mosaic/

download virtual PC, install windows 98, have at it

p.s. Mosaic 3 was not the first web browser....obviously, 1 and 2 were earlier, but there were others even earlier still. Look up worldwideweb, viola, midas...there were some earlier DOS based programs that were not true browsers, but conceptually similar....like Gopher.

worldwideweb, viola, midas all had GUIs

But, what I mean is if you install VirtualPC you can run Windows98 from within Vista as a virtualmachine....then you can run Mosaic, inside Windows 98, inside Vista

Have you tried compatibility mode? It may work there.
