This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Would I notice any difference in performance of Windows 7 between these two installs?


    A custom (clean) install from an upgrade CD?

    versus

    I wipe my hard drive with Secure Erase. Then do a custom (clean) install from an upgrade CD (with registry doctor found on the internet).

    Nope you'll notice no difference between the two because you'll be performing a fresh install and NOT upgrading from an existing OS. ;)
