I suppose TeamViewer allows you to reotely control computers - and that's all aspects except maybe some security software, Kaspersky can't be remot controlled.

I suppose greater detail in how you want to use it may be useful...

just googled Radmin - its remote control software - not remote admin software - so give TeamViewer a try

    www.teamviewer.com

and what do you want to do? controlling anothers mouse and keyboard, seeing the desktop?
managing their services, installing software, copying files around?
over the internal net, over the internet?
hearing the sound you play remotely?
log on as a different user as the one actively working?

    etc..

remote administrate can mean tons of things, me only listing a tiny fraction of it. and can be approached in different ways.

but i guess you want something like remote desktop over the internet (just a guess). and then, teamviewer works fine. if you want to support your mom, no software on her site has to be preinstalled. it's quick'n'easy. i use it to access my home server

Theres a usb version of TeamViewer in their site (for free and doesnt require installation, extract it and you are ready to go) if you want to give it a go. Been using it for almost half a year now and seems to get the job done for me. Thats when someone needs my help when he doesnt know what to do and so on.

Basically you can control the remote computer's mouse, keyboard (can also use clipboard), send files and so on.

So basically it comes down to why you need the software.

yes. the only problem with teamviewer i have is, wlm censors teamviewer links. so if i want to help a friend over wlm, i can't send him www.teamviewer.com/someurl/quicksupport.exe as it gets blocked. why ever..

but tinyurl for the resque, it allows me to send the link :)

i send the link, i get the number and password, and i'm on the machine.. and if he wants me to leave, he closes the window, and it's gone for good.

on the server, you can install it as a service (they have different versions online for anything), then dial the number, enter the password, and you're on the server.

works trough all proxies and networks and all, provided both you and the one you want to connect can connect to www.teamviewer.com (the internet), or locally directly with each other.

That's good to hear as I'm currently using the free version of LogMeIn. Going to give it a try.

Edit: So far I find TeamViewer very unstable with file transferring and VPN. But works great with remote desktop.

    crosslooop looks nice.

i like such solutions which connect to a server (i'd like one that one could install on an arbitary own server, though), as it allows usage without knowing the network topology. both get to the internet, and done.

    Teamviewer, file transport unstable?

Could it be your internet connection?

Overnight I trnasferred a file several GB large from Germany (my grnadfather's place) to me in the UK and it worked fine, also on several smaller files.

    ... ???

haven't had teamviewer unstable myself, too..

the only annoyance is really, that the urls get blocked in msn. espencially fun in a multichat where you get instantly kicked. but haven't found anything about teamviewer being bad, or so => i still use it. thanks to tinyurl and similar :)
