So, it's Linux-based? Or?
I just scare that there's no Drivers supported and many softwares(workstation programs and games) can't install on it.
On top of that, is Chrome OS free like other Linux OSes?

Software support will be a problem but netbooks are pretty standard and centrino also. One thing that can cause hick ups will be printing. When I look at this from a simple internet/pc user I can see that this covers almost everything they need. GoogleDocs and other web based editors are good enough and everything else is online anyway.
But most people still like to print. Low end users tend to print more. I tend to save things as pdf and send it to my smart phone when I think I will need it later. I also read longer documents on my smart phone or notebook. So I never need to print anything. My mom is the opposite, she prints a lot. There is nothing wrong with that (except maybe the environmental impact but that is minimal compared to driving a car). It works for her so there is no need to change.
But Linux and Chrome OS and even OS X have far worse printer support than windows. Especially cheap printers are badly supported and those scanner printer combo printers.... forget about it. -
Since I have not tried this operating system and prefer not to rely solely on others' opinions when choosing my operating system, I can not vote in this poll. That said, I do enjoy using Google Android on my phone and on my Windows machines, I enjoy using various services provided by Google. That alone makes me interested in seeing what they'll come up with.

The poll is badly worded. No one will 'buy' Chrome OS. You might but hardware designed to run Chrome OS. But the OS itself is free, except your potential lose of privacy.
-
well the question should not be whether you want to buy the google OS, since it's google they will be creative. But the question should be are you ready to sacrifice your privacy and let google control your lives.

I'm pretty sure it uses less resources than XP - there's not much to it. You could also try the "diet" version if you only have 1 GB USB drives lying around: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/30/chrome-os-diet-version-fits-on-a-1gb-usb-key-brings-more-wifi/ -

Naah, I'm good with W7.

Only if they can get gaming on there as well as offline capabilities (when there's no internet) and storage (backups)...
Would you use a Google Operating System?
