I tried this thread b4 and nobody responded, so here goes a second run.
Anybody here tell me if it would b worth it for me to switch over to xp64??
All anybody ever says about it is that they HEAR that it has lotsa bugs, but nobody has any specifics or experience about/with with the OS.
I have a p4 630 (one of intel's 64 bit chips) and am eagerly anticipating a number of games that will be designed to take advantage of 64 bit, but i don't know if it's worth the money, trouble (if there is any with the OS) for the benefits that I might gain.

the biggest problem when migrating to xp64 is that you need compatible 64-bit drivers for all of your hardware. Manufacturers may not have released them yet meaning that specific hardware on your computer cannot be used if you use xp64. If you can find all the drivers for your computer and have a copy of xp64 then by all means give it a shot. If you do go for it then i'd strongly recommend you dual-boot your system so you can revert to 32-bit xp should anything go wrong.

Did you search around? I am sure I have answered this question before. Again, it's as radditz said. 64bit xp drivers are scarce. I have 64bit XP and the only app that takes any advantage of it is a mathematical modeling program (which is why we bought the machine). However, we can't print from the machine because none of the lab's printers have 64bit drivers.
So, check for drivers first- video, sound, network, printers, etc. Go ahead and give it a shot if you find all the drivers. -
