As stated when i try to install XP on my laptop it'll BSOD right after it's done setting up everything. It'll go to "windows is starting" then it'll just BSOD on me. Has anyone else has this issue? Or is it one of those just plain wonderful things for me. I simply looked at them and it's doing nothing really at all. It'll just BSOD on me. I don't know why but it just does.

Can't seem to find anything very meaningfull ( :( )

But I think I found someone with the same error:
    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFFADFCBE323C0, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

    (On a German Forum)

What kind of HDD have you got? Sata?
There was a mention of stting the HDD to sata/ide in h Bios - I have no idea if that's possible or junk...

ok i don't know why it didn't post this but i have a SATA HDD and it's being very weird to me and it's not like i can really have much more with it but that seems to be the same error. I'd love to say this should be something that M$ looks into making the error codes more user friendly instead of just spouting random .

Make sure you have SATA driver included with your XP install disk, if not you need to slipstream it in; plenty of guide on the net. Another method is to go into bio and set the access mode to ATA, you lose a bit of speed, but it will install with the default XP disk with no problem.

well supposedly the SATA drive is included since it says loading SATA drive and there's no way in hell i'm going to lose more speed than i already have. It's got a "Green" HDD in it so that alone is reducing my speed and performance and i can't afford to lose anymore. I was using Windows XP Professional. i got it from my school's Website they use the MSDNAA software so it's that version of XP pro and i don't get why it's acting like it's not there when i see it saying "loading SATA/IDE drivers".

Also if i do set it to ATA for the install i'm stuck with ATA for my entire life correct?

I'm currently booting off of the xubuntu live CD b/c well i was like hmm i guess windows went crazy :/ so let's try removing ubuntu also.

edit:every guide i see requires one to have Windows installed and if i had windows installed why'd i need to slip stream in the info?

I thnk - stress think - you could instal/run it off ata then instal the sata drivers later, but I may be wrong.

Also - what kind of drivers did you slipstream - I'm just thunking, could htey be too old for your dirve? Aren't there - let me say - first and second generation SATA drives around nowadays?

well i got the drives that were generic and tried it from there. I used nlite to try to slipstream them in there. So that's out i've wasted ~3DVDs now b/c of nlites inability to do what it says "create a bootable iso" i laugh at that plain and simple. Well i don't know exactly how to get my SATA drivers since their not on the asus site :/. And honestly my HDD i doubt would have them so there's that also.

that's a very well known error for newer laptops. simply integrate your laptop's hdd's SATA drivers in the XP install disc via nLite and you're done ;)

If you can't the right SATA drivers, you need to seek help via customer service or on forums maybe other people who have your laptop can help

ok well i used nlite supposedly for xp and i can't get it to work at all. I've tried many times and the freaking ISO won't make. I can't make an iso that'll let me install so i don't even know if they were the ones i needed.

I haven't used nLite or vLite - do you burn them with v/nLite or another software - if you burn wíth say Nero then you have to select a bootable disc in that software.

Before you do all that, did you try to disable AHCI in BIOS. I had a similar error when installing XP and the solution was to disable AHCI. Truth is, I was updating BIOS so the new BIOS had this setting by default, I had to change it. Not sure if it helps but...

uhm... but ACHI that you speak of is my SATA/RAID stuff :/ i go under IDE configuration and see that it says port0/port1. And it says it's using SMART if i disable this won't i lose some sort of functionality.

And yes i used Nlite to burn the iso. It has a "bootable cd" option on it. i used it simply b/c it was sorta simpler :/

so then AHCI is how my bios reads my parts if i disable this then how will i be able to use it properly hmm?

right... some f2p games don't work with vista and it's plain and simply known. I'm on 7 build 7077. I'm never going back to vista. I had enough fun with that OS.

I like to play f2p mmos. And MOST do not work with Vista or 7. So xp is the best route to go. Well supposedly some can get them to work on vista if one disables the AV/Firewall/and UAC plus all other security features. And well honestly i'm not going to go that route i'll just go back to XP.

Until Vista/7 has full support from the f2p mmos that i'd like to some day play i'm not going to go with vista/7. I like f2p mmos and i shouldn't have my OS limit me.

Well i can't say about RAID BC I don't know much about it and weren't clear what you have. So if you turn it off, I don't know what will happen if you have a RAID. But I have SATA HDD and all works fine.
