Following this I post a link to the whole XP Tweaking guide, made by the same site. I somehow trust them more than all other people...

I guess it was only a matter of time before this thread turned into an XP vs. Vista discussion.

To answer your question, why tweak a 7 y.o. OS? Because it is still the OS most people use, it is still used and chosen by most businesses [by people who actually use their computers for productivity -- not just look at pretty icons and windows], and it will still be used by OEMs even after the June 30 deadline M$ imposed because of the demand for it. Old isn't necessarily bad, after all [and vice-versa: new isn't necessarily good either].
Can we get back on topic now? -
). BTW, I use both of the OS and I love them both.
, let's stop debating and get the most out of XP while it's still here.

And to add a bit of salt to it, XP is still more compatibile and runs some professional software better!
The only reason I use XP is because 64 bit version is the best OS that you can run SolidWorks on.
I didnt post this to ignite war between XP and Vista users. So some of you, just keep reading Vista Tweaks Guide and stop posting why should you tweak such an old OS. I did it, most users probably do it, so having a guide that says what is a good and a bad tweak is definatelly worth being posted here. Especially that it is the only reasonable guide I found on the net.
Period. -

ok that website is lame :

Honestly, I somehow can believe in this. I changed IE for Firefox some time ago. After fighting with it for some time and having problems as it was actually running as slow as IE with a lot of tabs open I switched to Opera. Never going back unless 3.0 proves me wrong...
