    what will i get if i use 64 bit OS? can my computer run 64 bit? its a C2D E6600 2.4 GHz.

    Well all C2D support x64 so, YES, your E6600 is 64 bit.

    64 but is more secure and is technically faster and more efficient. The problem is hardware and software incompatibility, some stuff will just not work on x64. Why are you thinking of going for 64 bit?
