    Hi every-one,
I have recently bought Toshiba's notebook computer Satellite A135 (Model name A135-S4467). At first it looked really smart purchase, but:
the computer comes with Windows Vista, and as an old fashioned user I really prefer (at least for a while), the XP pro. the problem is that the computer has a SATA controller, and when I am trying to install XP, it requires to hit the F6 key and install its drivers. some problems (like the need of a floppy drive) I can solve by slipstream my XP installation, but does any-one knows where can I find that driver??? I have looked everywhere, I asked for Toshiba's help but they can only help with the Vista, no XP drivers  The notebook's chipset is the Mobile IntelĀ® 945GM Express Chipset, so I have searched Intel's website also and I found the Inf files of the chipset. But as I understood I need a *.sys file and also there are too many Inf's so I cant tell which one is for the SATA controller. Meanwhile I dont have any OS installed, so if any one can help - PLEASE....
    Thanks,
    Itay.

Well, I formatted and installed XP Pro in the same SATA drive it did not ask for SATA driver. OK here is a summary as I wrote down if it helps( I have all the drivers and I could take the trouble of mailing a CD for free; I know what trouble/hastle I went through!)):

IMPORTANT HINTS FOR TOSHIBA A135- s4467 this was my experience:

Toshiba A135 S 4467 Vista Premium that worked with all ('!!!!' marks folders in the device manager )
First loaded with XP professional of course after formating the HD etc..

(1)Intel drivers i.e ennclosed in its folders and got video card and wireless working and USB controller working with special usb...sys needed from one of those driver in the folder...

(2)Note that no other Toshiba network driver made it work except the one Realtek folder which was so marked that worked OK so now still no audio Realtek HD and the SW modem worked until gone to MS updates

    (3) and got all updates select all OK when express install and let it verify al the way throgh XP SP 2 fully loaded and executed successfully

    (4) the Executing HD Audio file from Realtek.com.tw and boy all audio and modem 'got loaded with'!!!' gone but NO sound coming up...oh boy Then?

    (5) PC/Laptop on and off maybe a few times and all seem to work. nice sound etc

The chipset driver is different from the SATA controller driver. If your SATA controller is set to Legacy mode in the BIOS, it will be able to install XP without SATA drivers because Windows will see it as a ATA device (Legacy allows the SATA controller to run SATA devices in Emulated PATA mode). If it's in Native/AHCI mode though, you will need to change it in the BIOS or slipstream the SATA drivers. Here is the link for the SATA controller on the 945 Chipset:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scr...All&OSFullName=All Operating Systems&lang=eng

Download the enu one if you're natively english, else use cd. Then follow these instructions to extract the drivers:
    Code:
Use one of the following command examples to extract the
driver files from the different package types:

          c:\iata_cd.exe -a -a -pc:\[path]
          c:\iata_enu.exe -a -a -pc:\[path]
          c:\setup.exe -a -pc:\[path]

When run, the installation process begins; simply click
through the dialogs as prompted. This will not install
the driver, it will only extract the driver files to
[path]. After the extraction is completed, the driver
files can be found in [path]\Driver.
Then you can slipstream using whatever method you use.
