    Hi,

    I recently had to do a repair (from Xp cd). The copy that I have is Xp pro and is very old. Before I had to this repair I was already running SP2 (downloaded it from windows update).

    Now I can only get SP1 because when SP2 is installing about half way it says;
    "Access denied" and begins the uninstallation process.

    Now I am stuck because some of my programs require SP2 to operate.

    Can anyone help fix this issue?

    you should copy ur CD to ur hard drive, and slipstream SP2 into a new CD. google it, and there's instructions on how to do it. Then doing a clean install using the new CD, SP2 is just part of the install.
