Can you provide an info page from Microsoft with more information about the download?
-
Definitely...I'm worried it might be one of the release candidates...
EDIT: It is a release candidate...NOT the final version. -
Isn't the final slated for release on the 29th?
-
-
I'm pretty sure the download url the OP posted IS NOT the final version of sp3.
-
If you look at the last RC2 the file size is 315.2 MB versus the 336.10 MB of this one. I am installing it and will post screenshots.
-
It's just 7 days away.
-
OK it was a release candidate but I have found the final version otherwise through torrents. Seek and you shall find.
-
I'd rather wait a week then do it the dishonest way (that will probably harm your PC too!). -
Your right torrents can be bad, its best for normal users to wait. I like testing things soon.
-
Well I should have it in ~ 20 minutes, not planning on installing it but I still want to look at the contents.
-
Unless one knows for sure they are getting the real deal IMO one shouldn't download what one assumes is XP with SP3.
I'm just going to wait. -
No viruses picked up after extracting it, appears legitimate. That's not to say there couldn't be something buried, and I haven't installed it, but appears fine. Apparently the guy who brought it to the torrent world is the same uploader who first leaked the final version of Vista SP1, and that was legit also.
OP: Could you edit your post to make that a thumbnail? You're forcing my browser to side-scroll. -
Does anybody know if SP3 itself is all that's required to upgrade from SP1, or will SP2 need to be installed as well?
-
SP3 contains all the previous updates.

Guys...if you search MS for the same KB article, you will see this is an RC download. I'm willing to bet that any PC will show SP3 with no additional comments, but its still the RC.
Just wait a week and make sure you do this right. -
Actually Greg they are all named the same KB but I spent yesterday trying different ones and they show different build numbers except the final which said SP3 and no build number.
