Please help or send me in he right direction. I installed a game went to play it ended up “not responding” could not “end task” or do anything else. Killed the power, normally system goes back to last successful start stop, not this time. Message about registry problem and it created one from a log file, fine. Old all my settings changed, couple of notices about missing or invalid things. Don't worry I manually changed things back, un-installed 2 programs I thought were related to notices and re-installed all is fixed! But that is soooo! 98 and with 98 I would of done the scanreg restore trick and been fine. :D
Xp system restore does not work for me never has, always says unable to restore. I make a restore point just to test and the same, I have been lucky being clever but I would rather make my life easy. I have been using XP MCE for 7 months maybe 5 times I needed to restore, one reinstalled from scratch no way to go thru life. I have a 6GB restore partition on a Gateway, what am I doing wrong?

It is hard to tell what the problem is.

I know that some registry tweaks mess with the restore funktion. It happens everytime? never works even after you format and reinstall?

Maybe restore funktion cant use gateway storage?
