"If you get a new computer and want to run Vista, just make two partitions (preferably three, the third for data) and double boot XP/Vista." was something another person said in regrads to vista and xp. Would doing this allow me to have both xp and vista? I want Xp because it is much better than vista as of now, but i know that vista is the future and that only support for vista will be given etc etc. So how can one make partitions and double boot?

I said that, and yes it would. You need either a linux live cd (which includes partitioning tools), or a commercial program like Partition Magic to make the partitions. VistaBootPro is a great boot manager for folks wanting to run XP and Vista on the same computer.
