    Hi

I was wondering if I have XP back CD that came with my laptop, can I use it to install XP on Desktop that comes with formatted HDD?

BTW I'm not planning on re - using my old HDD from Laptop.

No, because the XP license that came with the laptop is OEM and cannot legally be transferred.
