Hey guys, I have a few questions about drivers and a clean instill of XP pro over my vista home premium. I just got a new laptop for Christmas, and would like to put xp pro on it instead of vista home premium. What drivers do i need when I get xp installed to get back into usable shape? I'm thinking CPU, GPU, BIOS, Audio, CD/DVD drive, and Wireless. Any others? BTW, here is a link to the drivers list for my HP dv6735s, and the specs will also be below.

You dont need drivers for the optical drive and CPU, but you might need for the chipset. BIOS is not a driver, and it has nothing to do with a specific OS, no need to worry about that if everything is working fine.

    You need drivers mainly for
    Video (GPU)
    Audio
    Network (LAN and Wireless)
And for any additional built in accessories like Memory card reader, Fingerprint scanner, Webcam (if you have any)

P.S : Windows XP is now slowly being phased out, Vista is better for the most part. Therefore I suggest you rethink your decision unless there are some critical applications that you need to run on XP.

I would go with XP. I have both installed and I rather XP. You should be able to find any drivers you need online [IMG]
