i have this intermittent problem on my new laptop and I can't figure it out, and since it's just more MS nonsense I don't expect a fix but I'd like to know if you've run into this problem. It can be either from laptop or desktop usage.
Generic Host Process has encountered a problem
szAppName : svchost.exe
szAppVer : 5.1.2600.0
szModName : ntdll.dll
szModVer : 5.1.2600.1217
offset : 0000b2ab
It only happens once I login to XP. And it happens randomly. I do have a customized XP install but it's never given me any problems. I recently updated the custom install with every single hotfix available but I haven't looked into it with detail since it's a cab package integrated during the install.
So if anyone has had a similiar problem after installing a recent hotfix I'd like to know. I usually avoid hotfixes and I might have to do so again...
