on windows ME, you can make your computer prompt you for a password when your screensaver comes on, to return to windows. how can you do this for xp? i tried using the little check box on the screen saver selector where it says on resume, password protect, with no luck

you have to have a password for your user account activated. The screensaver uses the password on the active user's account to get back into windows.

when you boot your laptop, does it ask for your password? or do you have set to do the quick login with password remember. You might have to disable "fast user switching"

do you have fast user switching enable (should find that under accounts in the control panel)... i'm just searching for suggestions, and that seems to be one of the biggest solutions. You supposedly have to have fast user switching disable.
