Hi I am having trouble upgrading my laptop from 2GB ram to 3GB ram, when I have 3 GB ram inserted, XP(SP2) recognizes 3.0 GB ram, but somehow lose my video card, and switches to windows default (no display adapters in device manager). Pulling out the 1 GB, XP sees 2.0 GB ram, and the video card. adding "/3GB" to the XP boot.ini file did not change anything. Strange thing is that Vista does not have the same problem..

    the specs are the following:

    asus f3sv-b1
    c2d 2.2 ghz
    3gb ram
    nvidia 8600m gs 256mb dedicated

    any help is appreciated
