This may be a bit 'out there', but I am often having to save files only to have the Save Files dialog being about 7 levels away from the folder I need to access. It would be somewhat easy for me to access the level I needed when doing repetitive tasks if I could paste the address into the address bar (or even write an autohotkey script to do it for me).

My problem, I have no idea how to use the Dropdown-menu-only Save As... dialog box into an editable address bar dialog box.

    Tx for any suggestions/solutions =]

i think on xp you can't edit the dropdown. but just paste the folder path into the "open" textbox where you could f.e. type the filename. and then enter, and you're at your target folder.

edit: you can type in there as well, start with c:\ and it will popup all folders for quickly writing your target root.
