    Hallo,

I received my "first" laptop yesterday (its the AMILO Xi 1554)

    specs:
    17" WXGA LCD Brilliant View
    CPU: Intel Core2Duo T7200 (2.00Ghz)
    Ram : 2048 (2*1024MB DDR2)
    HD: 160GB SATA HDD
    GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon X1900

So....like i said i got it yesterday...and i got the batteries and everything else on it so i could put it on...

Well now i noticed that there is something weird going on...

The problem is every 10 or 30 secs the laptop goes "stuck" for 1/2 secs o_O...do you remember having an old P2 with 512 ram? and trying to run Mp3`s while burning cd`s and surfing the net etc? well this laptop got that feeling.

So i thought it could be cause of Vista and the things that FC had instaled on it...

I did a clean instal with Win XP Pro w/ SP2 this time....and guess what...
i have the same problem again

This is a really annoying thing.

I cant play any online fps games since every once in a while i get "stuck" and next thing i know im dead

I cant play any music while surfing the internet or doing anything else

I cant have Photoshop and firefox open at the same on....and i can go on and on tbh...

Does anyone here have any idea as of what could be causing this problem?
Or what i could do / which programs i should use to check if everything in the laptop is working "okay"?

try playing around with your HD settings in the BIOS. try swapping between DMA options or similar.
